Azerbaijan For Bahruz Kangarli painting is an art to represent reality by colors, these are the colors applied on a surface to reflect certain images, feelings, sensations, it is a playing variation of colour and a form, light and shadow. He replaces portraits with images, poses, forms and figures without faces thus the viewer could press the descent button on his/her inner "camera" and get the chance to remember, recreate or even reveal these images by him/herself. Butunay Hagverdiyev populates his space with motifs drawn from his inner world, which interact with the surroundings. Whether drawing or oil paintings, he proceeds from a definite social theme and purpose, using various techniques and materials to impress his own personal component on the surroundings. Butunay brings a material world onto the field of a canvas. Expressing it through perfect abstract lines, he substantiates it while creating new forms. Faraj Rahmanov’s works have a little common with the harmonious landscapes and still lives: sharp, sloppy, and sometimes shapeless, they constitute a confession about that unknown that by call of the Moon rises from the depths of the soul. His art is inherently distinctive and his artworks can be recognized by his favorite themes, his urge for experiment with materials and techniques, his careless style. Breaking the rules of academism and realism Faraj deforms the shapes to create a different reality. Novruz Mammadov does not adhere to a certain direction, type or theme in his work, but always trying to go further and find something new. Novruz’s graphic works are usually performed in a small size. They are featured by sculptural and elaborate forms, bright polychrome colors and modernist stylization of forms. Their themes range from everyday life such as Family, Mornings, Meditation, just to name few topics up to mythological and psychological subjects. Maldives Raaif Siraj has fully experimented with all kind of mediums, which he has come across, but his focus is still on watercolours. Paintings of underwater beauty and its mystic in contrast to the normal everyday life is one of his themes as well as hyperrealism still life and human beings like in the artwork “Piece of mind”, which shows a girl with birds nesting in her hair, which represents ideas that are still developing. Raaif wants to captivate the viewer and to indicate that there is more to discover than it seems at the first glance. Maldha Mohamed is a conceptual artist and her artwork is a medley of portraiture, figures and surroundings, presented in a contemporary manner. She enjoys to express the many psychological elements of human behavior and intensity through her subjects. Maldha’s colour palette ranges from deep hues to subdued pastels, often emphasizing on the many shades of blue to highlighting the mystique of people. The artist’s tendency to surrealism leaves plenty of room for interpretation within her artwork. Ahmed Shadheen believes art with its depths delivers spiritual and emotional experience to both: the artist and the audience. For him art is transcending from the limits of reality into infinity and his artwork is always based on human emotions, interaction and dynamics by using different mediums and sometimes solely digitally. His paintings are mostly based in Maldives and focuses a lot on cultural significance, sometimes subtly, combining elements of his tradition while also incorporating pop culture in current society. Azlif Mohamed photographic work is purely based on his surroundings. He is inspired by the shapes, shades, colours and people who define the daily life. Composition plays a key role in Azlif’s work as he seeks the perfect framing for each and every shot he tries to capture. For him the story of a photo lies within the frozen frame, more specifically how it’s framed by the photographer. As a story teller and a photographer he wants to show his stories of his everyday life, the way how he sees it.
